Thomas & Genie – A Sweet Fall Wedding

November 16, 2018

It was a gorgeous fall day near Harrah, Oklahoma on October 20th, 2018! It had rained the day before and we were blessed to have a clear, warm sunny day! We met at Genie’s Uncle’s house and it couldn’t have been a more perfect setting.

Genie and Thomas, who also goes by TJ, met online. The first time they made plans to meet in person, TJ thought Genie was blowing him off because she had text him last minute to let him know the first weekend they had planned to meet, wasn’t going to work out. She didn’t tell him at the time that her Grandma had a stroke and they weren’t sure how things were going to work out with her. Her grandma unfortunately passed that night, but Genie kept in touch with TJ as they drove to and from Utah. They were able to meet in person the following weekend in Woodward, where Genie lived at the time, and went to a local musical, Seussical, where Genie was helping run lights. Afterwards, Genie and Thomas went to supper and talked for hours!

Genie and TJ are hilarious! One of the things they love to do is play Thumb War. They are always making jokes, playing with each other, and their first look photos were not an exception! I told Genie that she could walk up behind TJ and call out to him to turn around and see her, but of course, she walked right up to him and popped his suspenders, and really, it couldn’t have been more true to their personalities!

TJ and Genie were surrounded by close friends and family and memories of family member’s passed. Genie wore her Great Grandmother’s brooch in her hair and her Grandmother’s ring was tied to her bouquet.

I love meeting the wedding party! One of my favorite kinds are the one’s who laugh at my silly jokes and make jokes themselves and have me laughing, and of course TJ and Genie’s were a hoot!

TJ had a great plan to propose to Genie on the opening night of Crystal Christmas in Woodward, but he left the ring in the car. So they drove back out to the park and he looked at her and said, “I had something beautiful planned and had thought about what I want to tell you, but I forgot it and I love you and let’s get married.”

Despite how funny this couple and their family and friends are, they didn’t miss the truly beautiful and special moments of the day. In the ceremony, there was laughter and tears shed and true love and unity found.

“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” – Romans 12:10

MR AND MRS BRYANT!

“One, Two, Three, Four. I declare a Thumb War!”

The cake and cupcakes were amazing!! She sent me home with a box of cupcakes and I’m not sure they even survived 24 hours! Soooo good!

TJ and Genie love to travel to different places and to try new foods. They love to listen to podcasts and watch different sorts of shows together. They still enjoy going to live theater and they like to cook together. They are truly one of the sweetest couples! Their real love and appreciation for each other is a treasure.

TJ and Genie, it was an honor to be a part of capturing a wonderful day for you! I wish you all the love and blessings in your marriage and I look forward to watching you continue to grow together! You were never just clients, you’ve always been my friends from day one of meeting. I hope you have a fabulous time on your cruise in January! Enjoy! We love you both!
